Celebrations in The Netherlands

Celebrations in South Africa
All our partners received a gift to celebrate our birthday.
Centre for Early Childhood Development (CECD) (Partner Child Sponsorship Programme)
'Stichting Projecten Zuid-Afrika 2000-2010, supporting South Africa's children. Working with the Centre for Early Childhood Development to put young children first. Congratulations on celebrating your 10th anniversary and well done on all the lives you have touched through the work that you do.'
Hermanus Waldorf School (Partner Child Sponsorship Programme)
'Thanks so much for all the support you have given to so many over the past 10 years! Attached please find two photo's, one a group photo of a representative of each class, and the other of class 7.'
McGregor Waldorf School (Partner Child Sponsorship Programme)
'Please find attached the birthday poster the children of class 6 made for you! The poster was made during the annual Art festival in the village this past weekend. The poster was presented this Monday morning to all the primary school children during their assembly. It was briefly outlined what SPZA stands for and what they have meant for our school. Our music teacher together with some people of the village played some classical music which we dedicated to your birthday.'
Net vir Pret (Partner Out-of-School Child Care Programme)
Very special photographs by Net vir Pret!

Zenzeleni School for Creative Education (Partner Child Sponsorship Programme)
‘It is with heartfelt thanks that we send you our smiling faces and warm hearts for all the support Zenzeleni receives from your work.’
Al Noor Orphanage Centre (Partner Out-of-School Child Care Programme)
Al Noor Orphanage Centre bought 'winter gear' for the children. A splendid idea!
Association for Educational Transformation (ASSET) and Rural Education Access Programme (REAP) (Partners Scholarship Programme)
ASSET and REAP organised an outing for our 10 scholarship students. They visited the District Six Museum and the Slave Lodge. Comments: 'very educational, interesting and fun. The experience made them aware of the liberation struggle, giving them insight into the hardships of apartheid which made them appreciate their freedom of South African citizenship even more'. ... 'The day served as a bridge building and promoting inter-organisational collaboration between REAP and ASSET, as well as getting rural REAP students to engage comfortably and with ease with ASSET's urban students'. ... 'We just want to say happy 10th anniversary and thank you for celebrating it with us because it was a great, fun and special historical day as we visited and learned a lot about some of the historical places in Cape Town.'
Dysselsdorp Community After Care Centre (partner Out-of-School Child Care Programme)
From Dysselsdorp we received photographs of their celebration - with the cake still intact - and posters in the back ground.

Wheat Trust (partner Out-of-School Child Care Programme)
In May WHEAT received a very pleasant surprise, a thousand rand to celebrate SPZA’s birthday. In true WHEAT style we celebrated it with the women and girls that WHEAT works with. Pumla Matiwane from Samora Machel hosted a party for 30 women and girls in her house. We brought food and cake for everyone and as the World Cup was around the corner we brought some vuvuzela’s too. Then we had a blow the vuvuzela competition that blew us all of our socks! What a day, so much fun, sharing food and celebrating togetherness. The only thing missing was SPZA itself, but you were there in spirit and in the photos. SPZA, Thank you so much for bringing so much joy to our day!!!
Anna Foundation (partner Out-of-School Child Care Programme)
The money donated was used during our April holiday programme. As a special treat for the kids (and in sticking to the 'birthday' theme) we added a special party activity allowing the kids to decorate biscuits and make pancakes. The children had a wonderful time making the pancakes and decorating the biscuits with various sweets. They also learned a lot regarding measuring ingredients, reading the recipe correctly (no mixing done ahead of time!), kitchen safety, sharing and patience (!) and they even learned about fractions when slicing pancakes in 2! Thank you for making the April holidays a time for the children to remember!
South African National Circus School (partner Out-of-School Child Care Programme)
We were given free tickets for our students to go and see the Moscow State Circus in April. We treated our students with a trip to the circus and a meal and ice-cream afterwards as well as a few games in a video arcade. Everybody had a wonderful time and we are very grateful for your most generous gift.
