Impulsis and Alblasserwaard Rotary club

Last year, the Alblasserwaard Rotary club collected € 13.500 for the Stichting Projecten Zuid-Afrika with their event 'Groot Diktee van de Alblasserwaard' (Alblasserwaard Spelling Bee). Impulsis, a platform for private initiatives in developmental cooperation, matched this donation with a subsidy in 2009 and 2010.

Study and career choice in 2009

With money from Impulsis and from the Rotary club, we supported two projects in 2009 concerning study and career choice for youth. Our partners were REAP (Rural Education Access Programme) and ASSET (Association for Educational Transformation). REAP trained 30 volunteers and ASSET offered training in study and career choices to 450 eleventh- and twelfth-graders from the townships around Capetown. It was a great success. In 2010 we have asked Impulsis to continue their subsidy of the ASSET project. This year, 450 twelfth-graders will participate. Impulsis made more than € 6.000 available.
